Composting
The word “composting” comes from the Latin componere, meaning “to bring together.”
According to the Composting Council of Canada, “composting is natural process whereby micro-organisms transform organic waste materials into a soil-like product called humus.… [Composting] helps to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and produces a valuable product, compost, of benefit to soil health [and] vitality in addition to many other attributes such as water and soil conservation.”

Important: You need to put the waste from composting in your garden, but never in the riparian buffer strip.
